FS#1783 - Need a method to interrupt attack sequence while fighting hazardous creatures
|
DetailsAttacking retaliatory creatures like oozes is extremely dangerous with cleave, two-weapon fighting, or both.
I had a level 6 character with 56 hitpoints and dual-wielded scimitars that came across a few gray oozes sharing a square. The first attack split the target ooze and did 5d6 damage to my character. The offhand attack killed the ooze and did a further 5d6. This triggered a successful cleave, which hit my warrior for a lethal 5d6 damage against the second gray ooze. I was never given a prompt to interrupt the attack sequence, nor was I given the low hp warning box. I just died, and had to read the message log to learn what had happened. I believe there should be a confirmation prompt before each attack when attacking a creature with splash damage if hit points are critical. It might also be useful to have a (c)ombat option to turn cleave off temporarily. |

Another thing with dual-wielding and need for attack interruption: when you attack shadow ooze when you have multiple attacks and hit with the first attack, you still do another attack against the ooze even thought it has teleported away and is no longer adjacent.
