Well, I was inspired to get my own non-savescummed win. This win is basically scum-free. I had to do lots of saving and reloading due to crashes, etc, but not due to deaths so I consider this as close to an ironman win as I can get. :D I tried several mages and warriors because I wanted to do something different, but in the end I had to go back to what I do best - rogues. I decided to try a rogue without getting any levels in shadowdancer or assassin to see how it played out. I also wanted to test the luck system so I played a halfling even though the size thing always bugs me. It turned out pretty well. I think the save bonuses were more of a factor than the loot, though the loot was pretty decent. I ended up with a very wide array of items to choose from. I was very pleased (and a little scared) to see the horde at the end of the game. I ended up just sneaking past all of them until one saw me, but I was close enough to the moat bridge that I just made a run for it at that point. I then snuck up to the goblin king and one- shotted him with my sneak attack. That was very satisfying. I picked up my loot (stealing from the mind flayer that got most of it as I explain below) and made my way back up. I am eager to try a hefty warrior with the super-cleaving feats on that last battle area to see how he would do. Unfortunately, I keep having them lose their good weapons to Shatter. I need to figure out a decent defense for that other than dipping into another class for counterspell.
